Disney wants your kids indoctrinated in the radical LGBT agenda but a governor fights back

As Disney Corp. hammers at parents' rights, Governor DeSantis slaps back: "In Florida, our policies have got to be based on the best interest of Florida citizens, not on the musing of woke corporations.”

When you think of children ages 5-8, what do you think they should be learning in school? You probably think they should be learning about how to make wonderful art projects their parents will treasure for years. They should be learning how to spell and what the English grammar rules are. They should be learning the multiplication tables and long division. They should be learning basic facts about their country and state.

Yet for the woke Disney Corporation, this is all wrong. You see, woke Disney believes that young children in school should be learning that there are more than two genders and that it is totally normal for a little boy to identify as a little girl. That it is ok to have sex with anyone anywhere, even with people of the same sex. That all family forms are equal, whether you have a mother and a father, two fathers, two mothers, or 5 fathers and 5 mothers. That it is totally normal for a man dressed as a woman to read them stories in school.

You see, the Florida legislature has just passed a bill, HB 1557, that is designed to protect young children from being indoctrinated by woke school boards and woke teachers in the radical LGBT agenda and to ensure that parents are the ones who control the education of their children. First, the bill point-blank states that young children must not be indoctrinated in the radical LGBT agenda and that older children must be taught about sexuality issues in an appropriate way:

“Classroom instruction by school personnel or third parties on sexual orientation or gender identity may not occur in kindergarten through grade 3 or in a manner that is not age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students in accordance with state standards.”

Second, the bill recognizes that parents are in charge of the education of their children and need to be informed about what is happening with their child at school. The bill requires local school boards to:

“adopt procedures for notifying a student’s parent if there is a change in the student’s services or monitoring related to the student’s mental, emotional, or physical health or well-being and the school’s ability to provide a safe and supportive learning environment for the student. The procedures must reinforce the fundamental right of parents to make decisions regarding the upbringing and control of their children by requiring school district personnel to encourage a student to discuss issues relating to his or her well-being with his or her parent or to facilitate discussion of the issue with the parent. The procedures may not prohibit parents from accessing any of their student’s education and health records created, maintained, or used by the school district….”

Likewise, the bill prohibits local school boards from adopting:

“procedures or student support forms that prohibit school district personnel from notifying a parent about his or her student’s mental, emotional, or physical health or well-being, or a change in related services or monitoring, or that encourage or have the effect of encouraging a student to withhold from a parent such information. School district personnel may not discourage or prohibit parental notification of and involvement in critical decisions affecting a student’s mental, emotional, or physical health or well-being.”

However, schools are permitted “to withhold such information from a parent if a reasonably prudent person would believe that disclosure would result in abuse, abandonment, or neglect….”

Thus, under the bill, if little Tammy started to believe that she was a boy and wanted to be called “Tommy,” a school would be required to notify the child’s parents, and encourage the child to talk with her parents, about this issue, provided that doing so would not put the child at risk of abuse, abandonment, or neglect, rather than allowing the girl to “identify” as a boy, use male pronouns, and attempt suicide without notifying the child’s parents (as happened at a school in Florida just this past year).

What does the woke House of Mouse think about this bill designed to protect children from being indoctrinated in the radical LGBT agenda and to protect parents from being kept in the dark about serious mental health issues their children are suffering from? As expected, Disney opposes it, at first working behind the scenes to defeat the bill but now becoming more vocal about its opposition to it as the bill nears becoming law. Its opposition culminated in a statement issued on March 11, 2022, by Disney CEO Bob Chapek:

“Thank you to all who have reached out to me sharing your pain, frustration and sadness over the company’s response [working behind the scenes] to…Florida….bill [HB 1557]. Speaking to you, reading your messages, and meeting with you have helped me better understand how painful our silence was. It is clear that this is not just an issue about a bill in Florida, but instead yet another challenge to basic human rights… Our employees see the power of this great company as an opportunity to do good. I agree. Yes, we need to use our influence to promote that good by telling inclusive stories, but also by standing up for the rights of all.”

So what was Disney going to do in response to the bill? Chapek continued:

“Starting immediately, we are increasing our support for advocacy groups to combat similar legislation in other states. We are hard at work creating a new framework for our political giving that will ensure our advocacy better reflects our values. And today, we are pausing all political donations in the state of Florida pending this review. But, I know there is so much more work to be done. I am committed to this work and to you all, and will continue to engage with the LGBTQ+ community so that I can become a better ally.”

And Chapek was true to his word by announcing that Disney would be making a $5 million donation to the Human Rights Campaign, one of the most radical LGBT bullies in the world.

So the position of Disney on this pro-child and pro-parent bill was to oppose it in order to support the wishes of twisted radical LGBT adults. Walt Disney is turning over in his grave.

How did Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who has promised to sign the bill, respond? As reported by Fox News, DeSantis fearlessly declared in a speech in Boca Raton:

“When you have companies that have made a fortune off being family friendly and catering to families and young kids, they should understand that parents of young kids do not want this injected into their kid’s kindergarten classroom. You have companies, like at Disney, that are going to say and criticize parents’ rights, they’re going to criticize the fact that we don’t want transgenderism in kindergarten, in first grade classrooms. If that’s the hill they’re going to die on, then how do they possibly explain lining their pockets with their relationship from the Communist Party of China? Because that’s what they do, and they make a fortune, and they don’t say a word about the really brutal practices that you see over there at the hands of the CCP. And so in Florida, our policies have got to be based on the best interest of Florida citizens, not on the musing of woke corporations.”

Ouch! You have to love a leader who takes on one of the largest woke corporations in the world and holds no punches.  Kind of reminds one of President Trump….

Once again, the Disney Corporation has jumped into the political fray to give its strong support to indoctrinating young children in the radical LGBT agenda and to denying parents any knowledge of the mental health issues their children are suffering from. But this time a fearless governor was not afraid to take on the woke House of Mouse and put it in its place. Let’s hope that the more leaders take a cue from Governor DeSantis and stand up to woke corporations like Disney; nothing less than the well-being of our children is at stake.
