What is the purpose of a library? To lend books to willing readers? To provide quiet reading rooms for readers? Of course not, according to the Austin, Texas, public library system. It believes the purpose of a library is to indoctrinate your children in radical sex and LGBT ideology.
In a Twitter post (since deleted) on February 18, 2022, the Austin city library system announced it was sponsoring a “Spring Break Sex-Ed Camp” for teens:
“Calling all high school students. Get PAID to Learn about sex education over spring break! Free classes on this evidence-based and LGBTQIA+ friendly course led by @AustinPublicHealth held at multiple libraries! Space is LIMITED so sign up now….”
And best of all, teens can get paid for attending the indoctrination sessions: “Teens can Get PAID $100 (plus lunch) to learn about sex ed.”
With getting paid and a free lunch, who wouldn’t want to attend Sex Ed camp? Sign me up!
Needless to say, this indoctrination program that goes way beyond the mission of a library has been generating harsh feedback from people. One person responded to the library system’s tweet by saying: “Hey look, it’s the Austin Public Library book-mobile!” with a picture of a beat-up van with the words “Free Candy” written on the side of it.
Another person simply stated: “G R O O M E R S”.
Yet a third person tweeted:
“Hi, what is the source of funding for this? Please tell us how you are funding $100 bribes to students in exchange for their cooperation with sexual indoctrination?”
Another irate person stated: “Luring children to talk about sex, WTF is wrong with you all?! STAY AWAY FROM OUR KIDS!!!!”
Indeed, almost all of the over 100 replies to the library system’s tweet were negative.
So there you have it. The woke library system in woke Austin, Texas, is trying to groom our children by promising to pay them if they attend radical sex and LGBT indoctrination classes. Fortunately, sane people are furious. Let’s hope that this backlash will get the library system to stay focused on lending books rather than indoctrinating our kids during spring break.
