“My dad used to say, ‘Joey, don’t compare me to the Almighty. Compare me to the alternative,’” Biden wrote. “And here’s the deal: Democrats want to codify Roe. Republicans want a national ban on abortion. The choice is clear.”
What, on the other hand, is not at all clear is, once more, how much the entangled, confused, hesitant president of the most important country in the world, Joe Biden a Catholic, means with this surreal and aberrant tweet by quoting his own daddy, God and the alternative (to God? I shudder…).
Even less clear is what all this has to do with the abortion fight between Democrats and Republicans. Unless Biden wants to imply that those who favor abortion act like God and those who try to limit, stop abortion act like the anti-God.
In which case, however, the comparison lies exactly at the antipodes of what Biden apparently wanted to say.
Certainly, it doesn’t mean that Republicans are like God and Democrats like the anti-God (certain nonsense can only be said by Biden the Catholic), rather that one of the two wants to put things right, as God commands.
