Canada’s Liberal government under Prime Minister Mark Carney has secured passage of its 2025/2026 budget in the House of Commons, allocating millions in taxpayer dollars to abortion and pro-LGBT initiatives that undermine traditional family values and the sanctity of life. The budget, implemented through Bill C-15, passed on division without a recorded vote on March 4, 2026, as all parties agreed to proceed. This marks a confidence measure for the ruling party, now heading to the Senate for final approval.
Allocations include $54 million for LGBT groups, $382.5 million over five years starting in 2026-27 (with $76.5 million ongoing) for gender equality and women’s economic security through programs like the Women’s Economic and Leadership Opportunities Fund, $10.9 million to support “2SLGBTQI+” communities ($7.5 million over five years), and $1.5 million ongoing for Pride Security. These funds prioritize agendas that promote radical ideologies over protections for the unborn and family structures.
Carney praised the budget, stating it would “ensure organisations that address gender-based violence, protect 2SLGBTQI+ communities, and empower women in leadership roles, have the funding they need to continue their vital work.” The Conservatives, led by Pierre Poilievre and facing low polls, did not oppose the bill, unlike their stance against the previous fall’s budget.
Notably, the Liberals dropped a controversial plan to strip charitable status from pro-life charities and places of worship, following backlash from faith communities and pro-life groups. This budget continues the Liberal legacy since 2015 of advancing anti-life and anti-family policies, funneling public funds into initiatives that erode moral foundations.
