A recent poll from AP-NORC has revealed that a majority of Americans believe there should be at least some limits on abortion. The poll found that 73% of respondents felt this way, with only a minority favoring unrestricted abortion access. The data showed significant differences in opinion between Democrats and Republicans, with 80% of Democrats favoring abortion for any reason compared to less than 30% of Republicans.

The poll also highlighted specific views on abortion at different stages of pregnancy. Nearly half of Americans (45%) believe abortion should not be allowed at 15 weeks, which is when unborn children can experience pain. As pregnancy progresses, 68% of respondents believe abortion should not be allowed at 24 weeks.

Interestingly, the poll showed that 58% of respondents disapprove of President Joe Biden’s abortion policy. However, the survey did not ask about specific protections for unborn children that Congress should pass.

Despite these statistics, the media’s pro-abortion stance cannot disguise the fact that most Americans do not support unrestricted access to abortion. Stories of women supposedly forced to seek abortions due to restrictions imposed by pro-life states are not representative of the reality experienced by the vast majority of Americans.

The contrast between the media’s narrative and public opinion is evident in the words of Jor-El Godsey, president of Heartbeat International, who emphasized that an abortion decision is often one made out of desperation or coercion. He called for women to receive better support and assistance in unintended pregnancies.

Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, criticized the media for misrepresenting the true sentiments of Americans and the extreme position of the left on abortion without limits. She argued for an honest and clear conversation about abortion in the country, highlighting that most Americans are reasonable and compassionate and desire pro-life protections for both mother and child.

The article also highlights a shocking statement from Virginia Democratic Delegate Kathy Tran, who suggested that a baby could be killed even as it is crowning at birth. This instance serves as an example of the extreme positions taken by some on the left when it comes to abortion.

The article concludes by pointing out that while some states have enacted laws allowing abortion for any reason and at any point, most Americans reject such extreme measures. It emphasizes the sneaky tactics used by the second type of law, which allows exceptions past viability without clearly defining viability or health, leaving such decisions to the abortionist.

Overall, the article seeks to highlight the gap between public opinion and the pro-abortion agenda pushed by the media and some politicians. It urges readers not to tolerate such extreme positions and to advocate for the protection of unborn children.
