Woman suffers botched abortion at Trust Women facility in Kansas

In July, a woman experienced a botched abortion at the Trust Women facility in Wichita, Kansas and had to be transported to the hospital by ambulance. According to Operation Rescue, the woman suffered from uncontrollable hemorrhaging after a second-trimester abortion. The facility called 911, requesting a hospital transfer for the patient who had traveled from out of state.

The patient, whose age was redacted in the 911 call, was described as experiencing lacerations and a potentially dangerous hemorrhage. Trust Women, formerly known as the South Wind Clinic, used medication and devices to try and control the bleeding before paramedics arrived. The woman was conscious and breathing during the incident. She was eventually transferred to Wesley Healthcare, where she remained for several days and received at least one blood transfusion.

Trust Women Wichita operates in the same building where the late-term abortionist George Tiller practiced until his murder in 2009. The facility has a history of botched abortions, with numerous cases involving hemorrhaging reported last year. It is important to note that Kansas does not require abortion facilities to be licensed or inspected, meaning there is minimal oversight of the abortion industry by state officials.

The incident has caused anguish for Operation Rescue, an organization located just a short distance away from the Trust Women facility. They lament the increase in abortion numbers in Kansas, which have risen by 76% in the past year, the highest increase among all states. Operation Rescue President Troy Newman expressed concern for both the unborn babies and their mothers, emphasizing the harmful consequences they face.
