But, alas, sports league after sports league has taken its focus off sports in order to showcase how much it supports the radical LGBT agenda. Even sports leagues with conservative fanbases have jumped on board the LGBT agenda. For example, NASCAR, whose fans are among the most conservative in the country (remember the “Let’s go Brandon” chant began at one of its races), recently went full woke in its support for this radical agenda. Indeed, as I wrote in June of this year, NASCAR announced its support for the full spectrum of LGBT issues during Pride month. With the mandatory pride-transgender flag in the background, NASCAR tweeted:
“As we celebrate the LGBTQ+ community, we acknowledge that recent actions have not aligned with NASCAR’s mission to be a welcoming sport for all. We remain steadfast in our commitment to create a more inclusive environment — in our workplaces, at the race track & in the stands.”
Now another league not known for having left-wing fans just embraced the radical LGBT agenda: the National Hockey League. In a tweet on November 22, the NHL stated:
“The NHL is proud to support this past weekend’s Team Trans Draft Tournament in Middleton, Wisconsin. This was the first tournament comprised entirely of transgender and nonbinary players, with around 80 folks participating! #HockeyIsForEveryone #NHLPride”
In response to the comment “So, men playing on women’s team?”, the NHL declared:
“Trans women are women. Trans men are men. Nonbinary identity is real.”
The reactions to what the NHL said were swift. One person tweeted: “A fired twitter employee just got a new job as head of social media for the NHL.” Another tweeted: “Not expecting some PR intern to understand biology but way to go to embarrass the sport.” Yet another responded:
“The 2020s are so miserable. This is crazy pills. I miss the days when sports leagues were non-political. It’s not a sides thing. I don’t want the leagues being mouthpieces for the Right either. Fans shouldn’t get activism.”
So there you have it. Yet another sports league has decided to take its focus off sports to enter the culture wars on the side of the radical LGBT agenda. The National Hockey League has now let the world know that its believes that a man who thinks he is a woman is in fact a woman and that it is perfectly fine if a girl wants to cut off her breasts because she believes she is actually a boy. Is there any sports league left with a strong enough backbone to not bow down before the LGBT agenda? Can we please have our sports without wokeness being shoved down our throats? Or is that too much to ask?
