On the recent occasion of Mother’s Day, proponents of LGBTQ+ rights vocally embraced more inclusive narratives, using social media platforms to share content that asserted the notion of fathers also embodying the role of mothers. This is a new form in which their ideology is being spread. There should not be fathers and mothers, man and women, only… Well, whatever anybody feels at the present moment.
One such narrative was highlighted in a video disseminated by the popular account, Libs of TikTok. It features a “trans woman” pondering the annual celebrations of Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. With an “identity” that that is neither male or female, he interrogated the societal norms tied to these holidays. “As a trans woman, which one do I celebrate? I don’t feel like a father. Mother’s Day is tomorrow, I feel like a mom, but who celebrates me?” he raised this question. Yes, he. He is not a she, no matter how he “feels” about it.
His quandary extended to others like him, asking, “Is there anyone else out there unsure about which category they fit into? Are you a mom or a dad? Where’s Parents Day? Why can’t we just have a Parents Day?” He proposed a more “inclusive” celebration that honors all parents, rather than reinforcing the binary of mother or father. We can actually agree with one part of this. There should indeed be a Parents Day, celebrating the irreplaceable role that mothers and fathers have for the wellbeing of their children. But not at the cost of eliminating the two days that celebrate specifically–and separately!–mothers and fathers.
Another video distributed by Alpha Fox gave voice to a similar sentiment, this time, as part of a conversation between a “trans woman” and “her” daughter. The young girl affirmed the blurred lines of parental roles, stating, “You are my mom.”
The far-left perspective on Mother’s Day has seen a more significant focus in recent years. Last year, for instance, as reported by Breitbart News, Calvin Klein ran a Mother’s Day campaign showcasing a pregnant “trans man”. The fashion brand aimed to underscore the “realities of new families” as a tribute to Mother’s Day.
Their campaign spotlighted Roberto Bete, a reality TV star from Brazil who had transitioned from female to male and was pregnant during the photoshoot. The series of images depict Bete, shirtless, revealing both her pregnant belly and top-surgery scars, alongside her partner, Erika Fernandes, a tattoo artist.
How long will we suffer this madness? There is only one truth. Mother is female, father is male.
