The official news site of the Catholic Church in Switzerland has helped promote a pro-abortion film, LifeSiteNews reports.

On Thursday, kath.ch published a positive review of Call Jane in its Film Recommendations section. Author Sarah Stutte endorses the film’s message: the need for a so-called “right to abortion.”

“Call Jane shows how important the right to self-determined choices is–and not just for women!” wrote Stutte.

The film tells the story of an American housewife in the 1960s who is expecting her second child when she is told that her pregnancy could be life-threatening. After her request for an abortion is denied by the hospital, she turns to a network of women who perform illegal abortions under the pseudonym “Jane.” After the mother aborts her child, she becomes part of the network and begins to assist in the illegal killings.

The film is meant to portray abortion as something useful and even life-saving for women.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the film’s producers have teamed up with Planned Parenthood, Abortion Care Network and other abortion industry figures to screen the film at abortion facilities.

“Call Jane shows what abortion really is–a human right,” said Nikki Madsen, executive director of the Abortion Care Network.
