Spain: Sex-ed plan that teaches masturbation to 3-year-olds

Christian Lawyers foundation is asking the court to stop this "intrusion in the education of our children, which corrupts children and destroys their childhood."

The lawyers’ organization has launched a campaign on its website that has collected more than 40,000 signatures.

The Spanish Foundation of Christian Lawyers has requested precautionary measures before the Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the Superior Court of Justice of Catalonia, asking the Court to order that the Generalitat cancel its CoEduca’T educational program, a sexual education plan, drawn from a gender perspective, that teaches masturbation to children as young as 3 years old.

The request for precautionary measures is part of a contentious proceeding requesting the annulment of the program on the grounds that it violates several fundamental rights enshrined in the Constitution, such as the right to the protection of youth and childhood, and the right of parents to decide on the education of their children in accordance with their religious or moral convictions.

The jurists’ organization denounces that among other things, the CoEduca’T plan envisaged that the second cycle of Infant Education (3-5 years) includes “addressing masturbation in early childhood as an exercise of self-knowledge and exploration of joy and pleasure in contact with one’s own body”.

The president of Christian Lawyers, Polonia Castellanos, stated that “the program also includes the visualization in class of audiovisual scenes in which different types of relationships are exposed”. She calls the CoEduca’T plan an “aberration”, and she adds that “it is an interference by politicians in the education of our children, which corrupts children and destroys their childhood”.

The Christian Lawyers Foundation has also launched a petition on its website to ask the president of the Post Office to withdraw the stamp from circulation.
