Russia: Open letter asks health minister warning against depathologization of sexual perversion

The Science for Truth group has published an open letter asking the Minister of Health to pay the closest attention to the depathologization of sexual perversions that continues in Russian society and scientific circles.

The open letter has been published on the website of the Science for Truth group. In it, the group urges the health minister:

1. To combine efforts to develop objective and scientifically accurate notions of mental normality, so that homosexuality, transsexualism, sadism and other paraphilias are not considered a variant of health. Create a working group of specialists in psychiatry and psychology, law and legal sciences to conduct joint comprehensive research and scientific work in the field of psychosexual health.

2. To publish scholarly papers on these topics in international and Russian journals, and to take an active stance in international discourse.

3. To form clinical guidelines that take into account Russian scientific experience, including experience in eliminating unwanted same-sex attraction and correction of other deviations in psychosexual development. To create a classification of mental deviations adapted for the Russian Federation, as was the case with the ICD in the USSR.

4. To develop mechanisms for controlling the activities of psychologists and sexologists who violate the law banning the promotion of non-traditional relationships among minors in so-called “gay/trans-affirming” therapy and attempts to introduce molesting ideology under the guise of “sex education”.

5. To develop new and update existing methods of correction and prevention of deviations in psychosexual development.

6. To develop a science-based strategy for the protection of pro-family values, with the publication of papers in international and Russian editions of the RSCI core.

7. To tighten the criteria for the selection and licensing of medical organizations that receive the right to conduct expert examinations with the issuance of certificate No. 087/ “Certificate of Sex Change”.

8. Include hormonal drugs used for delayed sexual development and transitions in the list of drugs subject to subjective quantitative accounting.

9. Ensure that Russian scientists have the opportunity to express their scientific position without fear for their careers and salaries. The bonus part of a scientist’s salary depends on publication activity. Due to “political correctness” and censorship, Western and Russian publications with a high impact factor do not publish works that run counter to the policy of depopulating behavior (promotion of homosexuality, transsexualism and other psychosexual deviations), thus putting pressure on the free presentation of scientific positions.

10. Research and forward our appeal to the UN and WHO: https://pro-lgbt.ru/open-letter-to-un/

“You, Mikhail Albertovich, speaking in the Federation Council, said that Russia should not break off relations with the World Health Organization (WHO), because it is a platform for the exchange of information and for the country to promote and defend its point of view. But why is there silence on the fact that Russia never managed to protect traditional values in the WHO?

The time has finally come to defend the Russian point of view on the abnormality of homosexuality and transsexuality, and to recognize statements of normality as violating Law 6.21 of the CAO RF. And the law should apply to psychiatrists, sexologists and psychologists in Russia.

It is time to finally protect Russian children from the massacre that LGBT activists and psychologists trained in their courses are leading them to,” the letter says.
