Biden putting skin colour and gender ahead of qualifications in Supreme Court nominee

The US President is not even trying to hide his racism and sexism any more. In Joe Biden's world, competence and character count for nothing; group membership is all that matters. It's affirmative action and identity politics on steroids.

A key part of the American creed is that people will be judged as individuals and will sink or swim based on their competence and character. Their membership in a particular racial, sex, or ethnic group will have no bearing on how employers, universities, or society as a whole views them; merit and character are all that count.

Unfortunately, our dementia-suffering President has forgotten this creed. For President Joe Biden–and woke liberals in general–a person’s race, sex, and ethnicity are all that matter. Indeed, you are to be judged solely on which identity groups you belong to. Like Southern segregationists, woke ideologues assume that all members of a particular group act exactly the same way and that some groups are all good while other groups are all bad. Thus, to the woke, individuals who are white, male, Christian, or heterosexual are villains because all whites, males, Christians, and heterosexuals are villains, while individuals who are of minority background, female (and supporting the radical transgender agenda), non-Christian, homosexual, or transgendered are heroes because all minorities, females (supporting the transgender agenda), homosexuals, and transgendered are heroes.

Nowhere was this discriminatory attitude more on display than in Biden’s statement after U.S. Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer announced his retirement this week. What was the first thing Biden said? That he would replace Breyer with the most qualified judge or the best expert in Supreme Court jurisprudence? Or with a judge that attended the most prestigious schools and held the most prestigious legal jobs?

Of course not.

Instead, Biden boldly declared: “The person I nominate to replace Justice Breyer will be someone with extraordinary qualifications. Character, experience, and integrity. And they will be the first Black woman nominated to the Supreme Court.

You see, for Biden, not one white person nor one male has the “character, experience and integrity” to be considered. Hispanics and Americans of Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Indian, Pakistani, and Middle Eastern descent likewise are not qualified; even Black men are not good enough.

For Biden only a Black woman is qualified and thus, only they will be considered by him. This is nothing other than affirmative action and identity politics on steroids.

Here’s a thought experiment: would Biden have gotten away with saying “The next person to be nominated to the Supreme Court will be a white male”? Of course not. That statement is racist and sexist, the woke mob would thunder.  But to be consistent, the statement Biden actually gave must likewise be considered racist and sexist as it, too, limits qualifications to solely race and sex.

The lesson Biden’s statement gives to our youth is that no matter how hard you work, no matter how many obstacles you overcome, no matter how competent you are, it doesn’t matter in the end. You may not get a job, a promotion, a government contract, a university admission, or a position on the U.S. Supreme Court if you are not a member of the right identity groups. This is the exact message Jim Crow gave to our children with its proclamations that members of certain groups “need not apply.”

Let’s hope that both Republican and Democratic Senators who must confirm Biden’s nomination will reject this blatant racial and sexual pandering and insist that the best person, independent of group membership, will become the next Supreme Court justice.
