In Pembroke, Ontario, former teacher and 23-year education veteran Matt Alexander has sounded the alarm about LGBT indoctrination in schools. He revealed that teachers are not merely expected to refrain from discrimination but must actively “celebrate and affirm” LGBT ideology—even in classrooms with children as young as three years old.
Alexander and his wife Nicole lost their teaching positions in 2023 for opposing these policies. His son, Josh, had publicly opposed a school rule allowing male students to use girls’ bathrooms, which led to his suspension. Meanwhile, Nicole was suspended for simply removing a “pride” flag from her classroom door—placed there without her consent and without causing any disruption. In response, the school board demanded compliance, and when the couple refused, they were terminated.
At a freedom rally on August 26, Alexander warned parents to be vigilant. He emphasized that indoctrination can happen silently—“what happens in schools, stays in schools”—and urged parents to demand transparency and involvement in their children’s education.
The family’s resistance came at great cost. Facing severe financial hardship, they were forced to sell their home to avoid foreclosure. Now, with support from the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms, they are pursuing legal action: a human rights complaint against the school board for religious discrimination and another against their union for failing to defend their rights.
