New PM Magyar vows pro-EU, pro-LGBT agenda

Hungary’s 16-year conservative era came to an end Sunday as Péter Magyar and his liberal-centrist Tisza Party secured a two-thirds parliamentary majority, defeating Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s Fidesz party and setting the stage for a dramatic reversal of Hungary’s sovereign, family-first governance model.

Magyar, 45, wasted no time signaling what’s coming. In his victory speech, he declared Hungary would “become a European country again” — a thinly veiled promise to subordinate Hungarian national interests to the demands of Brussels. His remarks about people “loving someone differently than the majority” strongly suggest he intends to roll back Hungary’s constitutional protections for children and dismantle legislation prohibiting LGBT propaganda in schools. Hungary’s constitution currently defines marriage as the union of one man and one woman and explicitly states that “the mother shall be a woman, the father shall be a man.” That cornerstone of Hungarian law is now directly in Magyar’s crosshairs.

Magyar also called on the president of the republic, the chief prosecutor, the head of the State Audit Office, and the president of the media authority to resign — a power play that mirrors the troubling actions of Poland’s Donald Tusk, who has used his political majority to prosecute and imprison conservative rivals.

On the foreign policy front, Magyar plans first trips to Warsaw, Vienna, and Brussels — making clear where his loyalties lie. Billions in frozen EU funds are expected to flow almost immediately, not because Hungary reformed, but simply because Magyar is politically aligned with the EU elite.

What’s unfolding in Budapest is a preview of what the globalist left does when handed unchecked power: erase constitutional protections, bend to Brussels, and call it progress. Hungary built something rare in modern Europe — a government that put its own people and families first. That achievement is now under serious threat.
