If you were a gambling person, you would probably bet your house that NASCAR was a conservative organization, right? The overwhelming majority of its fan base is conservative, Christian, and Republican, so it would make good business sense for NASCAR to support the conservative values of its base, right? All I can say is that if you made that bet, you would be sleeping on the street tonight. Indeed, NASCAR is one of the most woke organizations in the country and, in particular, has been taken over by the radical LGBT mob before whose agenda it obsequiously bows.
For example, to celebrate Pride Month (June) this year, NASCAR made a tweet on June 1 celebrating the month. The tweet had the obligatory pride flag and, get this, a rainbow-colored checkered flag. How nice. It then had the obligatory virtue-signaling words:
“We remain steadfast in our commitment to create a more inclusive environment — in our workplaces, at the racetrack & in the stands.”
But right above these words is the following sentence:
“As we celebrate the LGBTQ+ community, we acknowledge that recent actions have not aligned with NASCAR’s mission to be a welcoming sport for all.”
What “recent actions” was NASCAR referring to? It was referring to the waving of the green flag at the May 22 NASCAR All-Star Race at Texas Motor Speedway in Ft. Worth by conservative Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott. Why did NASCAR say that this action did not align with its mission? Because in February 2022 Governor Abbot ordered the Texas Department of Children and Families to investigate any cases of parents or other caregivers allowing children to undergo abusive “sex change” procedures and treatments. (Procedures and treatments considered abusive include genital mutilation surgeries such as the removal of a girl’s breasts or a boy’s penis and scrotum and giving children puberty blockers and/or cross-sex hormones.)
Governor Abbot based his action on the earlier opinion of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton that held that certain “’sex change’ procedures and treatments [like those mentioned above]…when performed on children, can legally constitute child abuse” under Texas law. In particular, Attorney General Paxton declared that these “sex change” procedures and treatments can:
- “cause ‘mental or emotional injury to a child that results in an observable and material impairment in the child’s growth, development, or psychological functioning’…
- ‘caus[e] or permit[] the child to be in a situation in which the child sustains a mental or emotional injury that results in an observable and material impairment in the child’s growth, development, or psychological functioning’…
- cause a ‘physical injury that results in substantial harm to the child’…
- often involve a ‘failure to make a reasonable effort to prevent an action by another person that results in physical injury that results in substantial harm to the child[,]’ particularly by parents, counselors, and physicians.”
Significantly, Paxton cited evidence showing that gender confusion among children “has been shown to have a high rate of natural resolution, with 61-98% of children reidentifying with their biological sex during puberty.” Thus, the great majority of parents and other caregivers would be making a tragic mistake if they were to take gender-confused children down the path of sex-change care.
However, because NASCAR has been taken over by the radical LGBT lobby, it believes that both Governor Abbot and Attorney General Paxton were wrong to consider as abusive procedures and treatments that can, among other things, permanently sterilize and cause great mental anguish to a child and, in most cases, are unnecessary as most children will reidentify with their sex.
So there you have it. NASCAR is so beholden to the radical LGBT agenda that it feels free to spit in the face of its overwhelmingly conservative, Christian, and Republican fan base. To NASCAR, the radical LGBT agenda and abusing gender-confused children by drugging and mutilating them are gospel. It is high time for NASCAR’s fanbase to boycott the company; indeed, if every conservative, Christian, and Republican NASCAR fan left its stadiums, you would hear crickets chirp at races. Let’s tell NASCAR in a loud voice: “Go woke, go broke!”
