Joe Biden: the “first LGBT President”

Like Bill Clinton was called the “first black president” by his supporters, Joe Biden is probably considered the “first LGBT president” by his. Indeed, from his first day in office, Biden has done all he can to advance the radical LGBT agenda. For example, upon taking office he has ordered the forced indoctrination of our military in LGBT ideology, has made our embassies fly the pride flag during the month of June (often insulting the beliefs of host countries), has created an “X” category for sex on U.S. passports, has made LGBT political appointments a priority (with 14% of all appointments being members of the LGBT community), and has staunchly supported passage of the “Equality Act,” which would silence all dissent against the radical LGBT agenda. And just now he has announced that he will be issuing an executive order to further support the expansion of the radical LGBT agenda.

The prospective executive order aims to do several things. First, it will be “addressing discriminatory legislative attacks.” As the press release announcing the order states:

“Over 300 anti-LGBTQI+ laws have been introduced in state legislatures over the past year, and many of them specifically target transgender children and their parents by banning access to medical care and support at school. President Biden is addressing these harmful, hateful, and discriminatory attacks head-on – not only by speaking up for America’s families, but taking action to stand up to the bullies targeting LGBTQI+ people.”

In particular, Biden is ordering the U.S. Departments of Health and Human Services and Education to fight such bigoted laws and to issue model state policies that will promote the LGBT agenda.

An important thing to note about the above language is that if you support protecting girls and women by prohibiting biological males from using female rest rooms and locker rooms and from participating in female sports, or support protecting children by not allowing them to undergo often irreversible and damaging “gender affirming treatments” (taking puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones or undergoing surgeries that remove a healthy girl’s breasts or a healthy boy’s penis), Biden considers you a bigoted bully. Wow. He sure is a “uniter” rather than “divider.”

Second, the order will be working to end “conversion therapy.” In regard to youth who “identify” as the opposite sex, practitioners of “conversion therapy” work with them to help them re-identify with their biological sex; this makes sense as studies show that up to 95% of sex-confused youth will re-identify with their biological sex by late adolescence. Thus, to “gender-affirm” children that believe they are the opposite sex by giving them puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones and removing healthy body parts would be the wrong—and often abusive—things to do in the overwhelming majority of cases. In addition, as Ryan Anderson notes in his book When Harry Became Sally:

“It’s an Orwellian abuse of language to say that helping a child be comfortable in his own body is [harmful] ‘conversion therapy,’ but transforming a boy into a ‘girl’ is simply allowing the child to be ‘her’ true self. Of course, the doctors who use the former approach don’t think they’re doing ‘conversion’ at all, but activists believe it’s an effort to suppress the child’s ‘real’ gender identity.”

Third, the order charges the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services “to work with states to promote expanded access to gender-affirming care.” As noted above, in the overwhelming majority of cases giving gender-affirming to children who believe they are the opposite sex is the exact wrong thing to do. In addition, gender-affirming care can cause great harm to a child. Indeed, that is why the Florida Department of Health issued guidelines strongly opposing gender-affirming care. As the guidelines state:

“Due to the lack of conclusive evidence, and the potential for long-term, irreversible effects, the Department’s guidelines are as follows:

• Social gender transition should not be a treatment option for children or adolescents.

• Anyone under 18 should not be prescribed puberty blockers or hormone therapy.

• Gender reassignment surgery should not be a treatment option for children or adolescents.

o Based on the currently available evidence, ‘encouraging mastectomy, ovariectomy, uterine extirpation, penile disablement, tracheal shave, the prescription of hormones which are out of line with the genetic make-up of the child, or puberty blockers, are all clinical practices which run an unacceptably high risk of doing harm.’

• Children and adolescents should be provided social support by peers and family and seek counseling from a licensed provider.”

In addition, the Texas Attorney General has recently ruled that gender-affirming care “when performed on children, can legally constitute child abuse,” because such care can, among other things, cause sterilization and serious mental and emotional damage to a child.

So there you have it. President Biden is issuing an executive order that promotes the radical LGBT agenda and calls people who oppose such agenda “bullies.” Among other things, the order will be requiring the federal government to actively oppose state laws designed to protect females and children, to actively work to ban “conversion therapy,” which is the best treatment in the overwhelming majority of cases of children who believe they are the opposite sex, and to actively expand access to “gender-affirming” care for children, which care most often is the wrong course of action and can cause irreparable harm, including sterilization and serious mental and emotional damage. Let’s hope that sane states will fight back against this order and put a stop to the schemes of the “first LGBT president.”
