Germany funds pro-abortion NGOs abroad despite denials

Germany’s federal government is funneling tens of millions of euros to international organizations that aggressively promote abortion, all while claiming it doesn’t support a “right to abortion” abroad. A parliamentary inquiry by AfD MP Beatrix von Storch has laid bare this glaring contradiction, revealing unchecked taxpayer funding that undermines life-affirming values and national sovereignty.

From 2022 to 2025, the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) pocketed €63 million in core contributions from the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development—€15 to €17 million annually, with no strings attached. Shockingly, IPPF funneled $872,000 to China’s Family Planning Association since 2022, despite Germany’s professed opposition to forced abortions and sterilizations as human rights abuses.

Officials admit they don’t routinely scrutinize the political stances or advocacy of these groups, allowing radical agendas to flourish on Berlin’s dime. Other recipients include MSI Reproductive Choices (formerly Marie Stopes International), which scored over €14 million from 2021 to 2025 for projects in Yemen and Nigeria. The Population Council snagged a €10 million initiative running through 2028, targeting India and Africa. Even the Hirschfeld-Eddy Foundation, pushing global LGBT policies, grabbed €950,000 from 2020 to 2024, with up to €200,000 more slated yearly for 2025-2026.

Von Storch slammed the lack of transparency, urging Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s Christian Democrats to halt this ideological spending spree. She highlighted Merz’s flip-flop: As opposition leader, he grilled the previous government with hundreds of questions on NGO funding; now, his administration defends the same wasteful practices.

AfD MP Peter Felser called it “political betrayal in its purest form,” as the Merz regime abandons its critique. This scandal underscores Berlin’s capitulation to globalist forces, squandering resources on death-promoting entities while ignoring the sanctity of life and true humanitarian needs.
