Life
- Austria. The Catholic bishops are against the proposed law that would introduce “assisted suicide” in the country. The text, they write, contains “unacceptable” loopholes.
- Malta. Bernard Grech, leader of the center-right National Party, has reiterated that no one in his party will support or promote any measure in favor of abortion and that his political formation has been, is and always will be in favor of life from conception to natural death.
- Ireland. Many senators have expressed their strong opposition to the government’s plan to ban religious prayers and vigils outside clinics where abortions are performed, calling the proposal “unconstitutional”.
- France. The government announced the investment of 14 million euros to combat child prostitution, which affects about 10,000 girls aged 15 to 17.
- United States of America. Ohio has passed a law against infanticide, ensuring medical care for babies who survive abortions.
Family
- Slovakia. Economic support for families with children is the first part of the tax innovation announced by the government. The child allowance will increase from €25.50 per month to €30 for each minor child and to €50 for adult children still attending school until the end of their university education.
- United States of America. Abstinence and chastity are becoming a virtue again among unmarried people under 35, according to a research by the Institute for Family Studies in Washington.
LGBT+
- Hungary. The Constitutional Court has approved two new questions, asking citizens to express themselves on the teaching of LGBT+ issues in schools to minors, even without parental consent. The referendums, proposed by the government, will be held in the spring.
- United States of America. A New Hampshire student is suing the school district and the principal of Exeter High School who suspended him for saying there are only two genders on the school bus and in text messages exchanged with another student in the class.
- United States of America. The school board in Loudoun County, Virginia, has accepted the agreement reinstating Tanner Cross, the gym teacher suspended for refusing to address transgender students with pronouns other than those relating to their gender.
Religious Freedom
- United Kingdom. In May, US evangelical preacher Franklin Graham will repeat the tour of lectureships that were cancelled for him in the past due to protests from the LGBT+ lobby.
- United States of America. Dan Lipinski, a former pro-life Democratic congressman, urges fellow party members of the Christian faith to always put faith first in their lives and public engagement.
