Last week, the Florida House of Representatives passed the Stop W.O.K.E. Act, sending Critical Race Theory proponents into a tail-spin.
Following suit this week, House Reps also made sure they wouldn’t be getting any Christmas cards in the mail this year from LGBTQ+ activists. Both bills are now just a Ron DeSantis signature away from being signed into Florida law.
The movement of the bills not only reflects the dedication the DeSantis administration has for instilling socially conservative values in Florida, it also reveals the rabid necessity of his opponents to inject misinformation and subterfuge into the mainstream.
For instance, Equality Florida–an organization set up to “stop the DeSantis censorship & surveillance state agenda”–claims DeSantis’ agenda is to “curb free speech, propagandize school curriculums, and police them in classrooms, private workplaces, and doctor’s offices…” And yet, on their website, they have two 30 second PSAs which take ‘propaganda’ to top-shelf status.
In the Stop W.O.K.E. video, Equality Florida pushes forth the lie that the DeSantis legislation will result in history being scrubbed and manipulated–”I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.”
Nobody in their right mind believes what we see in the video will play out. DeSantis has been clear from day one what the legislation was prepared to do. “We won’t allow Florida tax dollars to be spent teaching kids to hate our country or to hate each other… we must protect Florida workers against the hostile work environment that is created when large corporations force their employees to endure CRT-inspired ‘training’ and indoctrination.” Lieutenant Governor Jeanette Nuñez, “the daughter of Cuban exiles who fled from Marxist ideology”, proudly stood next to DeSantis when he announced the proposal in mid-December.
Equality Florida continues with the blatant misdirection in their next video concerning parental rights, or–as they call it– “don’t say gay” legislation.
The Parental Rights in Education bill clearly states that content of a sexual nature cannot be forced upon children from kindergarten to third grade. Clearly, the video producers had no intention of showing a small child dealing with sexual material inappropriate for their age. So they presented a girl bordering on her teen years.
And in both videos, the glowing-red, all-seeing-eye, adds a nice Orwellian vibe to it all.
On Monday, the day before the House passed HB 1557 (Parental Rights in Education), protestors gathered outside the Florida State Capitol claiming that the legislation marginalizes LGBTQ+ people.
Think about that, for a second. LGBTQ+ people will feel “marginalized” if sexual content is not delivered to 4 and 8-year olds in the classroom. And DeSantis is the tyrannical totalitarian in this equation?
This should serve as a stark reminder to those who are on the right side of the ledger… for those who continue to fight for truth and justice. While strides are being made–however few or little–our opponents won’t take this lying down. Organizations like Equality Florida aren’t looking for “equality”, “inclusivity”, or #NOH8. They don’t see you as equal but sub-human. They don’t want you included, but cancelled. And it comes from a very dark soul that hates Truth.
They are Marxists. And they are in it, to win it.
And we need to match that ferocity and dedication, but geared towards Truth.
