Democrat VP choice Tim Walz has dismal record on immigration and border security

Vice President Kamala Harris has chosen Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate, setting off a flurry of criticism regarding his stance on immigration and border security. Walz has been famously supportive of drivers’ licenses for illegal immigrants and has expressed intent to make Minnesota a sanctuary state. As a result, he’s faced criticism from Republicans who’ve labeled this choice as supporting open borders and socialism. The RNC criticized Walz’s policies, including the creation of an “Office of New Americans” designed to assist immigrants and refugees in their integration into American society.

Walz’s tenure as governor saw the passage of legislation allowing illegal immigrants to secure a driver’s license, along with their eligibility for a tuition-free college program. Walz has also sparked controversy with his dismissal of previous President Trump’s border wall efforts, implying that he would rather invest in a ladder factory, essentially alluding to the simplicity of circumventing the proposed wall.

With Walz by her side, Harris becomes part of what Texas Gov. Greg Abbot calls the “most dangerous P/VP ticket ever”; one that will act as a magnet for illegal immigration.
