Pro-life investigator David Daleiden has secured a significant court victory against former Vice President Kamala Harris. A federal judge ruled that Harris, while serving as California Attorney General, violated Daleiden’s First Amendment rights by launching a criminal investigation against him in retaliation for his undercover videos exposing Planned Parenthood’s involvement in the sale of aborted baby body parts.
In 2015, Daleiden, through the Center for Medical Progress, released a series of videos showing Planned Parenthood officials casually discussing the harvesting and sale of fetal organs. Instead of investigating Planned Parenthood, Harris opened a criminal probe targeting Daleiden.
U.S. District Judge William Orrick determined that Harris’s actions were unconstitutional and that she can be held personally liable for damages. The ruling marks an important legal vindication for Daleiden after years of harassment and persecution for exposing the abortion industry’s practices.
Harris’s aggressive pursuit of Daleiden, while shielding Planned Parenthood, demonstrates the deep alliance between Democratic leaders and the abortion industry. The victory reaffirms the fundamental right to expose wrongdoing and hold powerful institutions accountable. Daleiden’s work brought to light serious ethical and legal violations, and the court’s decision protects the ability of journalists and activists to document and publicize such wrongdoing without fear of political retaliation.
