Controversial abortionist Thomas Gordon dead

Abortionist Thomas Gordon, who operated the Heritage Clinic for Women in Grand Rapids, Michigan, has died at the age of 74. His clinic has reportedly closed as a result. Gordon had a long criminal record, including assault and domestic violence charges, and his medical license was suspended in 2017 for failure to report his convictions. He filed for multiple bankruptcies and faced fines and probation from the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA). Pro-life advocates have expressed relief that Gordon is no longer able to continue his deadly trade.

Gordon’s criminal record dates back to 1991, with convictions for aggravated assault, misdemeanor domestic violence, disorderly conduct, and more. In one incident, his wife filed a personal protection order against him, stating that he had beaten her and threatened her with a gun. Right to Life of Michigan praised the actions taken against Gordon, noting that it is about time the abortion industry is held accountable for its actions.

LARA has ordered Gordon to complete a Health Professional Recovery Program within six months and pay a fine in order to have the opportunity to reapply for his medical license. However, many are questioning how Gordon was allowed to practice medicine in the first place given his violent criminal history. The case shows the disregard for the safety of women seeking abortions by a medical industry seeking to merely turn a profit.
