In an incident in Baltimore, Maryland, two pro-life advocates were severely assaulted outside a Planned Parenthood clinic on N. Howard Street, leaving them with critical injuries. Local activists relayed the incident that took place last Friday, detailing how Dick Schafer and Mark Crosby were attacked without provocation.
John Roswell, a fellow pro-life activist, communicated about the attack and the condition of the victims in an email. Despite the severity of the assault, he stated that Crosby was remaining positive, maintaining his spirits amidst the hardship.
In his email, Roswell provided further details on the extent of injuries sustained by Crosby. The assault resulted in a complete fracture of the plate bone in his upper right cheek. Additionally, Crosby was bleeding from an undetermined area behind his eye. The severity of the injuries meant that the shattered bone eye orbit would have to be replaced with a metal implant.
The email described the details of the attack, revealing that the attacker initially interacted with one of the Planned Parenthood escorts. He asked the escort, referred to as a “deathscort” by Roswell, to hold his drink, a seemingly innocuous request that preceded a sudden and violent attack.
The assault commenced with the attacker lunging at Schafer, who was caught off guard as his back was turned towards the assailant at that moment. The abrupt and unexpected nature of the assault left little opportunity for Schafer or Crosby to defend themselves.
