Following significant pushback from pro-life organizations and individuals, an all-trimester abortion facility set to open in Beverly Hills, California has lost its lease agreement. The landlord of the building on Wilshire Blvd has rescinded the lease for the DuPont Clinic, which was planning to offer abortions up to 31 weeks and six days for any reason.
Pro-life activists launched prayer and protest efforts to prevent the facility from opening, leading to the landlord reconsidering the lease. Tim Clement, Director of Outreach for the Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust, announced the news at a pro-life rally held outside the building.
The pro-life win suggests that the property management for the building did not anticipate the backlash they would face by leasing to DuPont. The presence of protestors on the streets of Beverly Hills and the negative attention drawn to the city played a role in the landlord’s decision to revoke the lease.
While abortion advocates argue that late-term abortions are only performed for medical reasons, the reality is that many women choose to have abortions in the third trimester for non-health related reasons. The DuPont Clinic’s patient director, Karishma Oza, goes as far as calling abortions in all trimesters “beautiful.”
This is a relieving win for the pro-life movement, as the cancellation of this clinic will result in the lives of hundreds if not thousands of babies being saved.
