As they have since 2012, countries and other organizations that promote the radical LGBT agenda have once again sent an open letter to Poland criticizing the country for its support of traditional morality and for defining marriage as a union of one woman and one man. This year’s letter, published on June 13, was coordinated by American Ambassador to Poland Mark Brzezinski and was signed by forty-six ambassadors. Ironically, Ukraine, despite receiving billions of dollars in military aid from Poland and sending millions of war refugees to Poland, also signed the letter—possibly a quid pro quo for the Biden administration supporting the Ukrainian war effort. Apart from Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Lithuania and Slovenia were the only countries from the central and eastern Europe region whose ambassadors signed the letter.
The letter opens by stating:
“On the occasion of Pride Month, we express our support for the efforts to raise public awareness of issues affecting the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and intersex (LGBTQI+) community and other communities in Poland facing similar challenges.”
The letter then expresses support for all the pride marches in Poland:
“To this end, we acknowledge the efforts of the organizers of the equality parade and marches in Białystok, Bielsko-Biała, Bydgoszcz, Częstochowa, Gdańsk, Gdynia, Gniezno, Gorzów Wielkopolski, Kalisz, Katowice, Kielce, Konin, Koszalin, Kraków, Lublin, Łódź, Milicz, Nowy Sącz, Olsztyn, Opole, Piła, Gryfino, Poznań, Rzeszów, Sanok, Słubice, Szczecin, Toruń, Warsaw, Wrocław, Zielona Góra.”
In the past American embassy officials have actually marched in pride parades in Poland, despite the strong opposition of this strongly Catholic nation to them.
The letter next says that the LGBT agenda must be inculcated throughout Polish society, including “in particular sectors such as education, health, social affairs, citizenship, public service, and public documents.”
It seems that the signers of the letter, among other things, want Poland to change its constitution which protects marriage as solely between one woman and one man, indoctrinate (or groom?) students in the radical LGBT agenda as is being done in many schools in the United States, allow biological men to compete against women in sports and use female restrooms, locker rooms, and showers, and have its healthcare practitioners support “gender affirmation” of minors, which is the exact wrong thing to do in most cases as up 95% of children who identify as the opposite sex re-identify with their biological sex by late adolescence and as such affirmation can cause sterilization and other significant harms. These are all things that the Polish people oppose as they are against natural law (the objective moral law based on human nature which is intuitively known by all people) and the tenets of almost all religions in the world.
The letter concludes:
“We pay tribute to the hard work of LGBTQI+ and other communities in Poland and around the world, as well as the work of all those who seek to ensure human rights for LGBTQI+ and other persons belonging to communities facing similar challenges, and to end discrimination in particular on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity.”
Prior to the publication of this year’s letter of support by foreign ambassadors, the Ordo Iuris Institute for Legal Culture (https://en.ordoiuris.pl/), a Polish legal think tank, addressed all foreign embassies in Warsaw with an appeal to refrain from meddling in Poland’s internal affairs and to maintain the neutrality required from foreign ambassadors by Art. 41 (1) of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations which says: “without prejudice to their privileges and immunities, it is the duty of all persons enjoying such privileges and immunities to respect the laws and regulations of the receiving State. They also have a duty not to interfere in the internal affairs of that State.” Based on the legal analysis published by Ordo Iuris on their website (and summarized in this release https://en.ordoiuris.pl/family-and-marriage/support-lgbt-organizations-ambassadors-violates-vienna-convention), the letter by the 46 ambassadors is a violation of the Convention. Ordo Iuris has not yet received a response from any of the signatories of the letter.
So, there you have it. Forty-six ambassadors have yet again criticized Poland for daring to defend traditional morality and marriage as the union of one man and one woman. Thankfully, Poland has remained unmoved by this interference in its domestic politics and continues to bravely stand for the truth. While members of the LGBT community must be valued as children made in the image and likeness of God, their radical agenda should be resisted. Let’s hope that other countries around the world, especially in Africa, will gain courage from Poland and likewise resist the imposition of the radical LGBT agenda on them.
