La liste comprend les g\u00e9ants de la technologie Microsoft, Apple et Meta ; des centres de divertissement comme Disney et Netflix ; et des d\u00e9taillants comme Starbucks, Nike et Dick&rsquo;s Sporting Goods. Le cofondateur de Yelp, Jeremy Stoppelman, a publi\u00e9 vendredi une d\u00e9claration dans laquelle il affirme : \u00ab\u00a0Cette d\u00e9cision met en p\u00e9ril la sant\u00e9 des femmes, les prive de leurs droits fondamentaux et menace de d\u00e9manteler les progr\u00e8s que nous avons accomplis vers l&rsquo;\u00e9galit\u00e9 des sexes sur le lieu de travail depuis Roe.\u00a0\u00bb Sara Kelly, de Starbucks, a ajout\u00e9 : \u00ab\u00a0Peu importe o\u00f9 vous vivez, ou ce que vous croyez, nous veillerons toujours \u00e0 ce que vous ayez acc\u00e8s \u00e0 des soins de sant\u00e9 de qualit\u00e9.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mais certains remettent en question les bonnes intentions des entreprises am\u00e9ricaines. Tucker Carlson  <a href=\"https:\/\/news.yahoo.com\/tucker-carlson-says-corporations-helping-151955813.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a soulign\u00e9 l&rsquo;\u00e9vidence<\/a>: \u00ab\u00a0Bien s\u00fbr, les employ\u00e9s sans famille sont beaucoup moins chers pour l&rsquo;entreprise.\u00a0\u00bb L&rsquo; Am\u00e9rique est lamentablement \u00e0 la tra\u00eene du reste du monde d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 en mati\u00e8re de cong\u00e9s maternels et familiaux pay\u00e9s. La loi f\u00e9d\u00e9rale exige que les entreprises de plus de 50 personnes offrent au moins 12 semaines de cong\u00e9 <em>sans solde <\/em>. Les entreprises sont laiss\u00e9es libres de d\u00e9cider d&rsquo;en autoriser d&rsquo;autres et de r\u00e9mun\u00e9rer ou non une femme pendant son cong\u00e9. Si quelques rares entreprises, dont Netflix, garantissent jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 un an de cong\u00e9s pay\u00e9s, la plupart des autres se contentent de trois ou quatre mois.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Et le cong\u00e9 parental n&rsquo;est que le d\u00e9but des signes de dollars que les entreprises pourraient voir lorsqu&rsquo;elles pensent \u00e0 la famille am\u00e9ricaine. Les familles co\u00fbtent plus cher en termes de soins de sant\u00e9, par exemple. Les entreprises consid\u00e8rent les m\u00e8res qui travaillent comme un fardeau &#8211; les m\u00e8res sont plus susceptibles que les p\u00e8res de s&rsquo;absenter du travail pour s&rsquo;occuper d&rsquo;un enfant malade ou g\u00e9rer une urgence \u00e0 la maison. Ils sont \u00e9galement plus susceptibles d&rsquo;accorder une grande importance \u00e0 la \u00ab\u00a0flexibilit\u00e9\u00a0\u00bb sur le lieu de travail, plus encore qu&rsquo;aux possibilit\u00e9s d&rsquo;avancement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Carlson a raison : il est bien plus facile, et moins cher, de payer pour des choses comme des avortements hors de l&rsquo;\u00c9tat ou la cong\u00e9lation d&rsquo;ovules que pour des \u00eatres humains vivants et respirants. Alissa Quart, en r\u00e9sumant les travaux de son livre <em>Squeezed : Why Our Families Can&rsquo;t Afford America<\/em>, a constat\u00e9, tant dans ses enqu\u00eates que dans son exp\u00e9rience anecdotique, que les m\u00e8res d\u00e9claraient que leurs comp\u00e9tences professionnelles <a href=\"https:\/\/slate.com\/human-interest\/2018\/06\/the-motherhood-advantage-the-evidence-suggests-that-becoming-a-mother-makes-women-better-not-worse-at-work.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">s&rsquo;\u00e9taient en fait am\u00e9lior\u00e9es<\/a> apr\u00e8s la naissance d&rsquo;un enfant. Elle a creus\u00e9 la question et d\u00e9couvert une enqu\u00eate men\u00e9e aupr\u00e8s de 10 000 femmes universitaires d\u00e9montrant que les m\u00e8res \u00e9taient plus productives au travail que les femmes sans enfants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>D&rsquo;autres <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scientificamerican.com\/article\/maternal-mentality-2012-10-23\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">recherches ont montr\u00e9 que<\/a>  que \u00ab\u00a0la maternit\u00e9 renforce certains types de cognition, am\u00e9liore la r\u00e9sistance au stress et aiguise certains types de m\u00e9moire\u00a0\u00bb. \u00ab\u00a0Le r\u00e9sultat\u00a0\u00bb de la grossesse et de la maternit\u00e9, \u00e9crivent Craig Kinsley et Elizabeth Amory Meyer, \u00ab\u00a0est un cerveau diff\u00e9rent et, \u00e0 certains \u00e9gards, meilleur &#8211; ou du moins un cerveau capable de jongler avec les d\u00e9fis de la vie quotidienne tout en maintenant une concentration de type laser sur le b\u00e9b\u00e9.\u00a0\u00bb Pour les hommes, les avantages de la paternit\u00e9 ont longtemps \u00e9t\u00e9 compris sous la forme de la \u00ab\u00a0prime de paternit\u00e9\u00a0\u00bb, l&rsquo;augmentation des revenus que les hommes accumulent g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement apr\u00e8s \u00eatre devenus p\u00e8res. La responsabilit\u00e9 de subvenir aux besoins des autres semble motiver les hommes sur le lieu de travail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mais les entreprises ne voient pas ces avantages ; elles voient les co\u00fbts et les inconv\u00e9nients imm\u00e9diats. Il est profond\u00e9ment ironique et tragique que de telles entreprises soient aujourd&rsquo;hui lou\u00e9es pour leur \u00e9galitarisme.
