The two bills are HB 500 (the \u00ab\u00a0Fairness in Women&rsquo;s Sports Act\u00a0\u00bb) and HB 509 (the \u00ab\u00a0Idaho Vital Statistics Act\u00a0\u00bb). Little signed <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/HB500?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#HB500<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/HB509?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#HB509<\/a> &#8212; an anti-trans bill. <br><br>Idaho is now a national innovator in discrimination. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/IDLeg?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#IDLeg<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/XSyUExpU9U\">https:\/\/t.co\/XSyUExpU9U<\/a><\/p>&mdash; HRC (@HRC) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/HRC\/status\/1244791726730031107?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 31, 2020<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n<p>One user on Twitter even posted a threat on social media (which as of this writing has not been taken down, despite being reported to Twitter for review by multiple users); the post shows a picture of an assault rifle over a transgender flag and calls on people \u00ab\u00a0to make the state of Idaho and Brad Little especially suffer\u00a0\u00bb for the enactment of the two laws.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-twitter aligncenter wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\nhttps:\/\/twitter.com\/seditiousdreams\/status\/1244936499960754177\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n<p>Many commentators pointed out that the enactment of the two laws came on what LGBT activists have dubbed \u00ab\u00a0Trans Day of Visibility,\u00a0\u00bb which is held each year on March 31 (though perhaps April 1st, \u00ab\u00a0April Fools Day,\u00a0\u00bb might have been a more appropriate date to select for such a commemoration). These critics claim that the two Idaho laws represent only two more instances of the \u00ab\u00a0erasure\u00a0\u00bb of transgendered persons in society.<\/p>\n\n<p>Those who support the bill, however, argue that it is really gender ideology that enacts \u00ab\u00a0erasure\u00a0\u00bb in society, of the biological differences between the sexes and of the uniqueness especially of girls and women. They&rsquo;d point, for example, to absurdities urged by trans activists like avoiding the term \u00ab\u00a0girl\u00a0\u00bb or \u00ab\u00a0woman\u00a0\u00bb and substituting it with \u00ab\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"a person with a vulva (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/ifamnews.com\/fr\/vision-dhorreur-un-projet-de-loi-sur-une-education-complete-en-matiere-de-sante-sexuelle-est-examine-dans-letat-de-washington\" target=\"_blank\">a person with a vulva<\/a>.\u00a0\u00bb <\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-button aligncenter\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link has-background has-vivid-red-background-color\" href=\"https:\/\/ifamnews.com\/en\/petition\/thank-governor-little-for-defending-biology-against-lgbt-ideology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>SIGN THE PETITION THANKING GOV. LITTLE<\/strong><\/a><\/div>\n\n<p>They might also point to the \u00ab\u00a0erasure\u00a0\u00bb of the provisions set forth in Title IX of the Civil Rights Act, which seek to ensure girls and women equal access to opportunities like sporting leagues and athletic scholarships, for example. These very protections are practically eradicated by forcing girls and women to compete unfairly against biological males with innate advantages of strength, stamina, or stature in certain competitions.<\/p>\n\n<p>It is inevitable that these laws will be challenged through litigation, given the powerful special interests involved and the well-funded LGBT lobby which is already mobilizing to see the laws overturned. It is important for the people of Idaho and indeed for all Americans that when the time comes, the Idaho government provide a strong and compelling defense of these acts in court. <\/p>\n\n<p>As LGBT extremists organize to shame, punish and boycott businesses in the sate of Idaho \u2014 their standard response to any action a state takes that is contrary to their radical agenda \u2014 it is imperative that people of common sense push back in force to show their support for this legislation.
