Apparently, “wokeness” can’t even reconcile with Mother’s Day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Social media has been abuzz on the topic of “birthing people”; a phrase coined by Democrat politician Cori Bush.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Addressing Congress on Thursday, Bush shared the story of complications she underwent during her two pregnancies. Almost shockingly, she describes how she battled to keep her babies alive. In one instance, her sister – who accompanied her to a check-up – threw a waiting room chair down the hospital hallway in frustration after Bush was told the “baby is going to abort”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It’s actually a beautiful testimony to a mother’s love for the child in her womb. Her son Zion, now 21-years old, was born at 23 weeks weighing just one pound and 3 ounces. Bush was told at the time her child had a “zero percent chance of life”, but mother and child endured. Bush then relayed the trials of her pregnancy with her now 20-year old daughter Angel. At just 16 weeks, Bush was told yet again that she was in pre-term labour and that the child would not survive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But then, the speech abruptly goes sideways. Bush ends it with, “I am committed to doing the absolute most to protect Black mothers, to protect Black babies, to protect Black birthing people, and to save lives.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Later that day on Twitter, Bush doubled down on the new lingo. This time, she failed to mention “mothers”, and uses only “black birthing people” – <\/p>\n\n\n\n
