Tomorrow, March 21, is the first day of spring and also World Down Syndrome Day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On days like this, there are always many words being said, sometimes even too many. So this time, we choose sweet and contemplative silence of photographs that one of our correspondents took with his mobile phone in the Paris metro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They are the initiative of the J\u00e9r\u00f4me Lejeune Foundation<\/a>, named after the French geneticist who discovered Down’s Syndrome, or trisomy 21, and who, gentle and contemplative, earned himself sanctity, J\u00e9r\u00f4me Lejeune (1926-1994)<\/a> in affirming the right to life against the new prevailing eugenics movement of the early 20th century. A holy scientist: exactly like that, precise, sweet and contemplative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
