{"id":51853,"date":"2021-02-11T12:26:00","date_gmt":"2021-02-11T17:26:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ifamnews.com\/?p=51853"},"modified":"2021-11-04T12:10:36","modified_gmt":"2021-11-04T16:10:36","slug":"draft-law-on-same-sex-partnership-underway-in-serbia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ifamnews.com\/en\/draft-law-on-same-sex-partnership-underway-in-serbia","title":{"rendered":"Draft law on same-sex partnership underway in Serbia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"last-updated\">Last updated on November 4th, 2021 at 12:10 pm<\/p>\n<p>Serbia\u2019s Minister for Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue, the very same one who&nbsp;showed <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/i\/status\/1272650437028708352\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">her middle finger during the pre-election campaign<\/a>, Gordana \u010comi\u0107, announced that work on <a href=\"https:\/\/paragraf.rs\/dnevne-vesti\/241120\/241120-vest5.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a draft law on same-sex partnership<\/a> is underway, thus revealing to us that in the spring of 2021 a new round of attack on Serbian society will be in full bloom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"zxx\" dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/VyuxSZx6cB\">pic.twitter.com\/VyuxSZx6cB<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Nenad \u010canak \ud83c\uddfa\ud83c\udde6 \ud83c\uddec\ud83c\uddea +384 (@XXLTulip) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/XXLTulip\/status\/1272650437028708352?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 15, 2020<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>As before, under the umbrella of human rights, neatly wrapped up in a bow, the toxic ideology of the LGBT lobby is being enforced onto us. Although Minister \u010comi\u0107 herself has said that same-sex partnerships cannot be equated with marriage (because that would be anti-constitutional), it is more than clear that the passing of this law would take us deeper down the slippery slope towards the abyss where there is no difference between the natural and unnatural, moral and immoral, blessed and accursed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At a first glance, it all sounds logical:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>the union of same-sex \u201cpartners\u201d (<a href=\"https:\/\/ifamnews.com\/en\/husband-wife-or-partner-how-words-can-shape-ideas-about-marriage\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">see Joe Grabowski\u2019s piece on the use of the word \u201cpartner\u201d<\/a>) should be recognized by law; <\/li><li>same-sex \u201cpartners\u201d should be entitled to the same rights and regulations when splitting property, if the union is dissolved;<\/li><li>a same-sex \u201cpartner\u201d should be allowed to inherit the person they live with, under the same terms as a spouse;<\/li><li>a same-sex \u201cpartner\u201d should have the right to inherit the other\u2019s pension in the event of the \u201cpartner\u2019s\u201d demise;<\/li><li>these persons should have the right to be protected from domestic violence;<\/li><li>in the event of sickness, the other \u201cpartner\u201d has to be informed about the \u201cpartner\u2019s\u201d health condition;<\/li><li>a same-sex \u201cpartner\u201d should have the right to participate in the decision-making when choosing the \u201cpartner\u2019s\u201d medical treatment;<\/li><li>same-sex \u201cpartners\u201d should be allowed visits in prison and, in the event of the \u201cpartner\u2019s\u201d death, they can collect their body and bury it.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>However, the documents, written by activists of homosexual lobbies from around the world,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/labris.org.rs\/sites\/default\/files\/Chitanka-2006.pdf\">including Serbia<\/a>, clearly show what their ultimate goal is and what they are aiming for: the equation of the term marriage for both heterosexual and homosexual unions in the Constitution; and, consequently, the right for homosexuals to adopt children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Therefore, we should have no doubt whatsoever that ideological colonizers \u2013 aggressive, well-financed and enjoying media support \u2013 will continue with their activities to achieve their goal, on which path Minister \u010comi\u0107 is but a mere operator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"593\" src=\"https:\/\/ifamnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Screen-Shot-2020-12-21-at-16.12.08-1024x593.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-42503\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ifamnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Screen-Shot-2020-12-21-at-16.12.08-1024x593.png 1024w, https:\/\/ifamnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Screen-Shot-2020-12-21-at-16.12.08-768x445.png 768w, https:\/\/ifamnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Screen-Shot-2020-12-21-at-16.12.08-1536x889.png 1536w, https:\/\/ifamnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Screen-Shot-2020-12-21-at-16.12.08-2048x1186.png 2048w, https:\/\/ifamnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Screen-Shot-2020-12-21-at-16.12.08-750x434.png 750w, https:\/\/ifamnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Screen-Shot-2020-12-21-at-16.12.08-1140x660.png 1140w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption>From Twitter<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8230; provided we let them do that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It can only be hoped that Serbian society will remain resilient and opposed to such movements. He coordinated the media campaign to collect funds for the\u00a0reconstruction and renovation of \u0110ur\u0111evi Stupovi Monastery in Ras, dating back to 1171, which met with countrywide acceptance and is remembered as one of the most successful campaigns in the entire Serbia and the region. He organized and produced a number of concerts, lectures, events,\u00a0shows,\u00a0films,\u00a0audio, video and printed\u00a0editions for\u00a0children and adults in Serbia and the Republic of Srpska (Bosnia and Herzegovina).\u00a0Between 2008 and 2012 he worked for the\u00a0Press Office of the Holy Synod of the Serbian Orthodox Church in the Serbian Patriarchate in Belgrade. From 2016 until 2019 he was a Senior Advisor\/Consultant for Dveri in the Serbian Parliament. With his wife, they are proud parents of four children.
