The internationally renowned New England Journal of Medicine<\/em> published a paper<\/a> in mid-December in which the authors question ‘sex assignment at birth’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Gender assignments on birth certificates offer no clinical benefit, and they may be harmful to intersex and transgender people. Moving such designations behind the marker would not compromise the public health function of birth certificates, but could avoid harm,” the three authors write.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The article does not ask about the existence of gender as a fact of an objective reality, does not even want to ask the question, out of consideration for a supposed discrimination of intersexual and transsexual people. The fact that women and men are different from a medical point of view and have to be treated differently depending on the clinical picture is ignored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
