Thomas \u201cAmelia\u201d Connolly, a 23-year-old trans sex worker and former diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) officer for the youth wing of the Scottish Green Party, has pleaded guilty to creating four AI-generated indecent images of children.The plea was entered on Wednesday in Falkirk Sheriff Court. Court records show Connolly\u2019s legal name is Thomas Connolly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prosecutors told the court that the case began after police received a tip and executed a search warrant at Connolly\u2019s home in Alloa, Clackmannanshire, on December 5, 2024. Officers seized his mobile phone, and a forensic examination recovered four AI-generated images depicting a child in sexualized poses. Three of the images were categorized as Category B (mid-range severity for child sexual abuse material), and one as Category C. Some images also depicted explicit sexual activity. All four were created on October 30, 2024, and were accessible on the device.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A separate charge of possession of child sex abuse material was effectively dropped after the guilty plea to the creation charge. During the hearing, Connolly, who sometimes uses a wheelchair, initially appeared confused about the charges before confirming the plea. Sheriff Simon Collins deferred sentencing until May 1, 2026, for background and risk assessment reports. Connolly has no prior criminal record and remains free on bail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Connolly is active on social media under the username \u201cTechAmelia.\u201d His online presence includes promotion of an OnlyFans account alongside a Roblox game group targeted at children. He has faced longstanding accusations on forums such as Tattle Life of inappropriate online behavior toward minors, including messages described as \u201ccreepy\u201d by parents of young Roblox players.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a Facebook video posted after the plea, Connolly claimed he was being targeted by \u201chate groups\u201d and stated it was not his fault that he received the AI-generated images. He argued that the law should not treat AI \u201cpseudo images\u201d as equivalent to real child sexual abuse material because \u201cit\u2019s not even real people.\u201d Connolly previously held leadership roles in LGBT activist circles, including as a DEI officer with the Scottish Young Greens and involvement with Stirling Pride. He had also met former Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon. Following the conviction, references to him have been removed from the relevant group websites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
