Six voted against, and two abstained. The proposal, initiated in 2024 by the leftist party d\u00e9i L\u00e9nk, was approved by the State Council in June 2025 after being submitted as a draft law in May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The debate centered on terminology, with the Christian Social People\u2019s Party objecting to labeling abortion a “right,” arguing it would impose a state duty.
