The sheer size of Soros\u2019s contributions is staggering. Nearly $18 million was directed to the Movement for Black Lives, while Dream Defenders received close to $2 million. Sunrise Movement, which has been instrumental in disrupting political events and pushing radical climate policies, has also been granted millions. These sums are not the pennies of grassroots organizing but deliberate investments into a network that has repeatedly aligned itself with extremist rhetoric and actions. It is little wonder that critics now argue that Soros\u2019s philanthropy amounts to underwriting domestic unrest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Naturally, the Open Society Foundations denies any wrongdoing. Its spokespeople insist the grants are meant to support \u201cpeaceful and lawful\u201d activity and that grantees are expected to uphold human rights. But this defense rings hollow when so many of the organizations backed by Soros have proudly adopted the language of confrontation and, at times, outright violence. The revelations come at a moment of heightened political tension, following the murder of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, which authorities are investigating as a potential politically motivated crime.
