Footage believed to have been posted by Westman onto YouTube just hours before the shooting revealed extremist ideation and disturbing content. In the video, he displays a notebook filled with text in both English and Russian, shows schematics of a church interior, and handles firearms with brutal messages scrawled on them\u2014phrases such as \u201cKill Donald Trump,\u201d \u201cFor the Children,\u201d \u201cDefend Equality,\u201d and one seemingly referencing a mass shooter. His notebook and footage also reveal disturbing praise for violent acts and mass shooters, including admiration for Sandy Hook shooter Adam Lanza.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O\u2019Hara condemned the atrocity as \u201ca deliberate act of violence against innocent children,\u201d acknowledging the overwhelming horror of firing into a church filled with families and worshippers. Cardinal Raymond Burke offered prayers on behalf of the Catholic community, invoking God\u2019s mercy and healing over the injured and bereaved. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
