Harris believes that if the ACLU genuinely empathized with the plight of asylum seekers, they would not attempt to expedite the current administration\u2019s process since it could potentially stymie those with legitimate claims. Trump\u2019s pledge targets illegal aliens, with initial focus on criminals and potential threats to the nation, such as the members of Venezuelan prison gang Tren de Aragua, which currently operates in more than a dozen U.S. states, including North Carolina, which Harris represents.<\/p>\n
