One of the most dangerous ironies of our age is the transformation of the newly formed United Nations which expressly recognized the family as \u201cthe natural and fundamental group unit of society and\u2026 entitled to protection by society and the State\u201d (UDHR<\/a>, article 16), to an institution that within decades, as noted by Gabriele Kuby, would \u201creplace universal moral values with relativistic postmodern \u2018values\u2019\u201d and \u201cfight for dissolution of men\u2019s and women\u2019s sexual identity [and] elimination of marriage and family.\u201d Not content with seeking to force its radical social agenda on sovereign nations, the UN in recent years has employed an additional tactic with increasing effectiveness: waging a campaign to recruit the world\u2019s youth, as seen in the UN\u2019s International Youth Day (IYD) on August 12 with its ambitious theme of \u201cYouth Engagement for Global Action.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYouth\u201d is defined by the UN as persons between the\nages of 15 to 24 years, a group totaling over 1.2 billion people. It is about\n15% of the world population, although that number belies the outsize influence\nof these individuals who want to make their mark on the world now and who will\nsoon be the leaders and influencers of tomorrow. At this pivotal stage of life\nas they get their bearings on the world and make life-changing decisions, they\nare particularly impressionable\u2014a condition the UN seeks to exploit. Take a\nlook, for example, at the carefully crafted rhetoric on the IYD website<\/a> with its emphasis on \u201cyouth\nsocial entrepreneurship.\u201d The term is defined in the UN\u2019s accompanying World Youth Report 2020<\/a>: \u201cSocial entrepreneurship marries a sustainable economic logic to social\nimperatives.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

No one, of course, could be against \u201csustainable\neconomic logic,\u201d one of several legitimate goals addressed in the UN\u2019s appeal\nto youth. The phrase \u201csocial imperatives\u201d seems equally impressive, but what is\nit? Only when you dig deeper do you discover that behind the sophisticated fa\u00e7ade\nis the stark reality that such \u201csocial imperatives\u201d include UN policies promoting\nabortion and \u201csexual rights,\u201d policies that undermine family, faith, and life. You\ncan see this in sources such as the \u201cAdolescent sexual and reproductive health\u201d\nwebpage<\/a> of UNFPA\n(United Nations Population Fund), or the UN\u2019s \u201cComprehensive Sexuality Education\u201d\nwebpage<\/a>,\nor the scandalous publication<\/a> of IPPF (International Planned Parenthood Federation, an NGO wielding\nextensive power in the UN) entitled \u201cHealthy, Happy and Hot.\u201d In short, the UN\u2019s\njoining of \u201csustainable economic logic\u201d with \u201csocial imperatives\u201d is a cunning effort\nto cloak those \u201cimperatives\u201d with legitimacy and rally idealistic and\nimpressionable youth to become activists for the UN\u2019s radical social agenda.\nFor years at various UN events we have seen youth the UN has trained and brought\nin as advocates, who are often more likely to be listened to because of their\nyouth. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If the UN succeeds in brainwashing the world\u2019s\nyouth, the battle to protect family, faith, and life will soon be lost. As Thomas\nPaine wrote about the American Revolution, \u201cthese are times that try men\u2019s\nsouls,\u201d causing summer soldiers and sunshine patriots to withdraw. We must speak\nthe truth in boldness and use every available means\u2014beginning with home and\nfamily instruction and including educational venues and social media\u2014to teach\nand empower our youth. We renew our plea issued<\/a> at a\nrecent World Congress of Families: \u201cWe call for a culture that honors and\nenables faithful, fulfilling, and resilient marriages; that recognizes and\nprotects the uniquely valuable contributions of both mothers and fathers to the\nlives of their children; and that encourages the values and vision necessary\nfor young people to look forward to and prepare for successful marriage and\nparenting.\u201d We cannot afford to lose the battle for the hearts and minds of our\nyouth.   <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
