Matt Robbins believed that the strength of a nation resided\nin the courageous hearts of those willing to serve a cause greater than\nthemselves. The veteran Republican\ngrassroots organizer, trainer and consultant, passed away in May of\ncomplications from Coronavirus and Lymphoma. He was only 49.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His perspective on what it would take to protect\nfreedom and values was clear. Citizens standing up for their beliefs and\nentering the arena of public service was absolutely critical to ensuring the\ngreat experiment in Democracy would continue to flourish with all its fantastic\nconsequences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since the dawn of the digital age, a culture of fear and\noppression has permeated our political discourse, not only in the United\nStates, but in many free nations. News media, the education complex, social\nmedia platforms, the entertainment industry and well-heeled political action\ncommittees on the left have worked to further an insidious agenda. They enthusiastically\ndrive abortion-on-demand, euthanasia, drug commercialization, gender as a\nsocial construct and other dangerous ideas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
They organize to shame people of faith, deride family\nvalues, demonize those who wish to advance a culture of life and suppress\nmeaningful public discourse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Matt Robbins, through his work with organizations like the\nLeadership Institute, the American Council of Young Political Leaders and\nAmerican Majority in the United States, trained thousands of conservative\ncandidates to run effectively for office or otherwise organize people anxious\nto be in the arena, protecting freedom. With a quick wit and magnetic\npersonality, he inspired countless new public servants to take the slings and\narrows of the Left \u2013 and fight on. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Robbins left behind a legacy that is impossible to calculate\nnot only because of the people he reached, but because of his message of faith\nthat touched so many. Though jaded, as anyone involved in politics would be\nafter decades, he never lost faith in the concept that America\u2019s democratic\nprocess was resilient. He never lost faith in the power of an individual\u2019s\npassion to leave their community, nation and world better than they found it.\nHe never lost faith that right and truth will triumph over evil and oppressive\nideas masquerading as progress. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Robbins believed that everyone had the ability to take\naction to protect their values. He believed that people the world over had the\ncapacity to spur profound change. It was\nalways exciting to have a conversation with Matt since his perspectives on\npublic policy and politics reflected keen instincts and fearless candor. We\nneed more people like him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Though he\u2019d seen Presidential campaigns and national\nactivism from the inside, he was right in his understanding that policy changes\n\u2013 or appropriate defenses of freedom \u2013 were kindled in our own backyards.\nActing locally in churches, community groups, and local efforts, far from the\nglitz of Hollywood, the din of the big-city newsroom and the Beltway\nchattering-class, was the best way to grow a movement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was less \u201csexy,\u201d of course, but Matt Robbins believed that\nemphasizing local issues, movements, and campaigns would build a foundation for\nbold success nationally. He believed in\ncompassion and common sense. The same street fighter for freedom would help a\nhomeless man get a meal or find a job. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
People of faith and those who believe in values like life, at odds with the massive megaphone of today\u2019s digital mob, need to build stronger foundations now. They would do well to carry forward Matt Robbins\u2019 legacy of action and let the world know they will not be intimidated. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
