However, this time it features overweight models and transgender persons. Wokism has crept into the fashion industry as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Four years ago, Victoria&#8217;s Secret canceled its world-famous runway show, stating that they needed to evolve and grow. Now the lingerie brand returns with a fresh perspective, presenting models who stand for &#8220;diversity,&#8221; as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nau.ch\/people\/welt\/victorias-secret-gibt-comeback-mit-plus-size-und-transmodels-66439882\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">nau.at reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Supermodels like Gisele Bundchen and Adriana Lima will no longer be the only ones floating down the catwalk in their underwear. Victoria&#8217;s Secret now also relies on plus-size model Paloma Elsesser (30) and transgender models Valentina Sampaio (26) and Emira D&#8217;Spain (26) as its voluptuous &#8220;angels.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sofia Jirau (26), the first model with Down syndrome, is also fitted with wings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It seems that the brand is trying to break away from its previous image, in which only very thin models were shown. It now relies on a mix of good approaches\u2013like including disabled people\u2013but also ideological choices, like trans people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Victoria&#8217;s Secret&#8217;s decision to feature diverse models is widely welcomed by customers and advocates of the &#8220;body positivity&#8221; movement. The company&#8217;s previous campaigns and runway shows were criticized for their narrow beauty standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As with all industries, it remains to be seen whether this decision will set the trend. &#8220;Go woke and go broke&#8221;
