A man has been harassing female students at Berlin’s Free University (FU) for weeks. In any sane world, this man would have been reported and arrested immediately. However, he has not been arrested, simply because of his migrant status.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The left-wing General Students Committee (AStA) at FU has urged female students to not report incidents concerning this man out of concern for “racism”. \u201cWe would like to point out that police operations for people affected by racism are generally associated with an increased risk of experiencing police violence,\u201d Morgenpost quoted from the AStA letter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Alternative actions taken by the AStA have been fruitless. Even after an intervention with him, the offender has refused to comply and cease his perverse actions. \u201cSometimes it is hardly possible to talk to him,\u201d the newspaper quotes from the circular email sent to students concerning the offender. Responding to the situation, the Berlin police tweeted, \u201cAnyone who is in danger or affected by a crime or becomes aware of an emergency situation of others should not let anything or anyone stop them from acting.
