Wade<\/a><\/em>  was announced on June 24, French President Emmanuel Macron tweeted his outrage and concern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"fr\" dir=\"ltr\">L&#39;avortement est un droit fondamental pour toutes les femmes. Il faut le prot\u00e9ger. J\u2019exprime ma solidarit\u00e9 avec les femmes dont les libert\u00e9s sont aujourd\u2019hui remises en cause par la Cour supr\u00eame des \u00c9tats-Unis d\u2019Am\u00e9rique.<\/p>&mdash; Emmanuel Macron (@EmmanuelMacron) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/EmmanuelMacron\/status\/1540385276350046208?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 24, 2022<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><figcaption><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/EmmanuelMacron\/status\/1540385276350046208\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">From the Twitter profile of President Emmanuel Macron<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lemonde.fr\/politique\/article\/2022\/06\/25\/la-nupes-et-renaissance-annoncent-le-depot-d-une-proposition-de-loi-pour-inscrire-le-droit-a-l-avortement-dans-la-constitution_6132009_823448.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Monsieur le <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lemonde.fr\/politique\/article\/2022\/06\/25\/la-nupes-et-renaissance-annoncent-le-depot-d-une-proposition-de-loi-pour-inscrire-le-droit-a-l-avortement-dans-la-constitution_6132009_823448.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pr\u00e9sident<\/a> expressed solidarity with American women<\/a>, who he feels have been deprived of a &#8220;fundamental right&#8221; to eliminate the child they are carrying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The next day Aurore Berg\u00e9, president of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.assemblee-nationale.fr\/16\/les-groupes-politiques\/renaissance\/(block)\/123156\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Renaissance<\/a> (RE) parliamentary group in the French National Assembly, announced plans to introduce a bill that would enshrine the right to abortion in the very Constitution of the French Republic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Politicians responded enthusiastically, and Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne (TDP) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Elisabeth_Borne\/status\/1540642635894996992?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1540642635894996992%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&amp;ref_url=https:\/\/www.lefigaro.fr\/politique\/avortement-lrem-va-deposer-une-proposition-de-loi-pour-inscrire-le-respect-de-l-ivg-dans-la-constitution-20220625\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">stated in a tweet<\/a> that &#8220;the government will strongly support this bill.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For her part, Mathilde Panot, chairwoman of the far-left party La France Insoumise (FI), announced that the <a href=\"https:\/\/espresso.repubblica.it\/mondo\/2022\/06\/19\/news\/elezioni_in_francia_sinistra_di_jeanluc_melenchon-354669382\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">coalition recently formed by the founder and leader of his party Jean-Luc M\u00e9lenchon<\/a> (Nouvelle Union populaire \u00e9cologique et sociale), established on May 1 by the Left and the Greens, would also work on a similar bill to this effect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Things are the same on the right: president of the Rassemblement National <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/J_Bardella\/status\/1540738721053437954\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Jordan Bardella published a post<\/a> on Twitter stating that &#8220;no serious political movement in France questions the Veil law,&#8221; referring to former Health Minister Simone Veil, who made abortion legal in France in 1975. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As for public opinion, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lejdd.fr\/Societe\/sondage-ivg-une-majorite-des-francais-favorables-a-lallongement-du-delai-4036095\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a study conducted in April 2021 for the Women&#8217;s Foundation<\/a> shows that the majority of French people, about 93 percent, say they are convinced of women&#8217;s right to access abortion, while 81 percent would even believe that such access should be further improved, and it is precisely with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.euractiv.com\/section\/politics\/short_news\/france-finds-cross-party-support-for-constitutional-right-to-abortion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">this report that the generalist media across the Alps and beyond<\/a> are waving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It remains to be added that France has a chilling <a href=\"https:\/\/ifamnews.com\/it\/francia-fine-dei-giochi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">bioethics law<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/ifamnews.com\/it?s=Francia+legge+bioetica\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">which iFamNews has covered on numerous occasions<\/a>, in which elective abortion finds wide scope and virtually unlimited application.
