“Fifteen structural subdivisions were excluded from the register of branches and representative offices of international organizations and foreign non-profit non-governmental organizations in accordance with the orders of the Russian Ministry of Justice dated April 8, 2022. These structural subdivisions were excluded due to the revealed violations of the current legislation of the Russian Federation,” reports the Russian Ministry of Justice<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the organizations excluded are offices of the Carnegie Foundation, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, and the Heinrich B\u00f6ll Foundation. These organizations have been carrying out their malicious work in Russian society for many years, planting feminism and LGBT ideology, and introducing juvenile and anti-family laws<\/a>. Branches of nine other German, Polish, American, and Swiss non-profit NGOs were also removed from the register.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also, on April 7, Russia withdrew from the UN Human Rights Council. Earlier, the UN General Assembly decided to suspend Russia’s membership in the Council. Senator from the Chelyabinsk Region Margarita Pavlova commented<\/a>: “The UN HRC has not defended true human rights for a long time. It has become a system for controlling the world. Everyone can be manipulated by liberal rhetoric. … We have nothing to do there: they only hear what they want to hear, and they have long ignored true human rights.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similar words were spoken by the US side in 2018, when the US left the HRC at the initiative of former President Donald Trump: “We are taking this step because our commitment does not allow us to remain part of a hypocritical and self-serving organization that mocks human rights,” said<\/a> Nikki Haley, the US permanent representative to the UN at the time. The Council, she said, “has been a protector of human rights abusers, and a cesspool of political bias.” However, under President Joe Biden, the US returned to the Council.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
