Bernard Lane is an Australian journalist who covers issues regarding transgenderism–and he is unafraid to speak the truth about this issue. In an interview with MercatorNet<\/a> posted on March 15, 2022, Lane was asked about his thoughts regarding this reality-denying movement that has taken the West by storm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When asked if social media is playing a role in the unprecedented spike in the number of people claiming they are in the wrong body, Lane responded:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSome activists still insist that the kids are such experts on their \u2018gender identity\u2019 that they are immune from peer influence. However, nobody serious discounts the possibility. Recently, top \u2018gender affirming\u2019 clinicians in America have conceded that social contagion online and via friendship groups is happening at some level. It\u2019s long been known that adolescent girls are especially vulnerable to social contagion, and there seems no good reason why gender dysphoria would be an exception.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

In regard to whether gender clinics were treating children based on solid evidence, he stated:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThat was my assumption in 2019 when I first talked to health professionals who were troubled about youth gender clinics. The last few years have shaken my confidence in institutions \u2014 not just medical organisations but education systems and media outlets. What\u2019s happening is more understandable if you see gender clinics as practicing a hybrid medical-and-identity-politics model. The imperative of \u2018trans health rights\u2019 appears to have had the effect of lowering standards of evidence, safeguarding, and informed consent for gender medicine.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Lane also believes that the media has been doing a disservice to the public with its reporting on transgenderism, as it always gives unwavering support to the movement\u2019s claims despite the evidence and harshly vilifies anyone with a contrary view:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMany once august media outlets in the US churn out repetitive propaganda, in which gender medicine is always \u2018lifesaving\u2019 and any sceptics are uniformly hateful bigots. No country has been spared this pseudo-progressive coverage, which reflects the political culture of journalists as a class and the unexamined assumption that a trans kid on hormones is today\u2019s version of the glory days of 1970s and 1980s gay liberation.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

However, he does see hope for the future as doctors and other health professionals are increasingly beginning to question the claims of the movement:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOne of the signs of progress is that, little by little, health professionals are realising there is no medical consensus on invasive medical treatments for young people who often believe they\u2019ve been \u2018born in the wrong body\u2019. I think we are witnessing now the end of the period in which, in part thanks to lazy or activist journalism, there was a false sense of medical consensus that the \u2018gender affirming\u2019 model and hormonal and surgical treatments were the only game in town.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

When asked why he is so passionate about these issues, Lane declared:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI suppose what drew me into this story was the drastic nature of these medical interventions with young people and the unusual mind\/ body philosophy which supposedly justified it. Then there\u2019s the despair and disbelief of parents as they watch their children medicalised. Also, I couldn\u2019t ignore the fear, dishonesty and intimidation that surrounds this particular topic.  I\u2019ve never seen anything like it in more than three decades of journalism. And a big part of this extraordinary and troubling story \u2014 which, in my opinion, has the hallmarks of an international medical scandal \u2014 is the failure of journalism to do its job.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Bernard Lane is an Australian journalist unafraid to confront the radical transgender movement and the false propaganda it is pushing. He believes that for too long, too many journalists have actively or lazily peddled the lies of the movement and ignored the countless children who have irreparably damaged their bodies through hormones or surgeries and their countless parents who have suffered as their children have undergone these treatments that lack a sound evidential basis. Let\u2019s hope that more journalists shine a light on the truth so that children can be spared the pain of \u201cgender-affirming\u201d treatment and the lies of radical transgender activists can be confronted and defeated.  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
