Transgender influencer, Rose Montoya, who came under spotlight last June for baring his breasts at a White House event, has claimed that his dog is now transgender. In a recent Instagram video, Montoya informed followers that his male dog, Hera, was transgender after undergoing a neutering procedure, also known as an orchiectomy.

Emphasizing that the dog does not bear typical male characteristics, Montoya wrote, “Yes, my dog is trans! And she couldn’t be happier, because she has no understanding of gender, which is different from biological sex.” The influencer then argued that if people are upset with him for assigning gender to his dog, they should also question why they’re not disturbed that humans assign gender to babies based on their biological sex.

Montoya previously made national headlines by exposing his breasts during a Pride event at the White House last year, causing an uproar and leading to his ban from future official events. Despite the controversy, he defended his actions, insisting that going topless is legal in Washington, DC, and that he was simply “living in joy, living my truth and existing in my body.”
