Top plastic surgeon disavows transgender surgeries on minors

Dr. Ira Savetsky, a prominent plastic surgeon trained at NYU Langone Health — ranked the number one plastic surgery program in the country — has publicly rejected the transgender ideology and apologized for remaining silent while minors underwent irreversible procedures. In a powerful statement, Dr. Savetsky said: “As a father to three young children and as a physician who took an oath to do no harm, I failed to speak up and I just want to thank President Trump for having more clarity on this.”

He described the intense pressure during his training: “You’re at the number one plastic surgery program, you’re grateful to be there. There’s no room to speak up. You’re a soldier.” Savetsky admitted he witnessed children as young as 13 being placed on puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and undergoing surgeries, often after parents were told their child would commit suicide without intervention.

The turning point came when the Trump administration threatened to pull federal funding from institutions performing these procedures. In response, NYU Langone Health halted transgender surgeries and closed its Transgender Youth Health Program. Dr. Savetsky credited Trump’s decisive action with forcing the medical community to confront the reality of these experimental treatments on children.

His comments come as multiple major hospitals across the United States, including Kaiser Permanente, Stanford Medicine, and several children’s hospitals, have quietly stopped offering transgender surgeries and hormones to minors due to mounting legal, financial, and ethical concerns.

Dr. Savetsky’s public stand highlights the growing recognition that these interventions cause lifelong harm to confused children and represent a profound betrayal of medical ethics. By thanking President Trump, he underscores how strong leadership is restoring sanity and protecting the most vulnerable from ideological experiments that destroy young bodies and futures.
