Spain: Complaint over campaign distributing kits for cocaine consumption

These campaigns are financed with everyone's money since the Federation of Youth Clubs of Catalonia received 230,000 euros in subsidies in 2023 alone.

The Spanish Foundation of Christian Lawyers has filed a complaint before the Barcelona Court of Instruction for a crime against public health, against the members of the Technical Secretariat of the Federation of Youth Clubs of Catalonia.

The lawsuit is motivated by the T-Drogues campaign launched by the Federation to “promote responsible drug use”.

The campaign denounced by Christian Lawyers consists of the distribution of 500 kits that include a card to make the cocaine stripes, a cannula for sniffing and a serum to clean the nostrils afterwards.

In addition, the card includes slogans such as: “snack well on whatever you are going to take”, “alternate nostrils from time to time” and “clean your nose after each trip.”

Christian Lawyers has also requested injunctive relief to withdraw the kit. The organization of jurists stated that all of these campaigns are financed with everyone’s money since the Federation of Youth Clubs of Catalonia received 230,000 euros in subsidies in 2023 alone.

The president of Christian Lawyers, Polonia Castellanos, insisted that “we cannot allow public institutions to finance organizations that promote drug use among young people”.
