Pro-life pregnancy resource centers in the US see significant rise in life-affirming services

The Charlotte Lozier Institute’s recent report revealed a significant increase in the services provided by American pro-life pregnancy resource centers from 2019 to 2022. With 2,750 such centers across the United States, the value of life-affirming pregnancy services and material support offered rose to nearly $367.9 million in 2022, marking an increase of more than $100 million since 2019. The services provided include healthcare, education, ultrasound scans, diapers, baby formula, and more.

Interestingly, areas that saw a major surge included a 194% rise in delivered material services and baby items and a 41% increment in participants for parenting and prenatal education programs. The distribution of abortion pill reversal drugs also surged by 142% between these years. The abortion pill reversal drug is seen by some as controversial and has been the center of legal cases, such as the recent lawsuit filed by New York Attorney General Letitia James against 11 pregnancy resource centers for allegedly making “misleading” and “false” claims about the drug’s effectiveness.

Furthermore, the employee count in these centers has also grown, with an 18% increase in paid staff and a 26% rise in paid medical staff tracked from 2019 to 2022. Over 80% of the centers are reported to provide medical services. An impressive client satisfaction rate of 97.4% was recorded in 2022. The number of pregnancy resource centers operating maternity homes nearly doubled from 24 in 2019 to 46 in 2022.
