New York Attorney General Letitia James’ office has filed a motion proposing fines against the pro-life group Red Rose Rescue. The group was forbidden to block access to abortion clincis, but has courageously continued to do so. James said in a statement that, “If Red Rose Rescue and its members want to flagrantly disregard a court order, then they must also be prepared to face the consequences. Too many New Yorkers have suffered at the hands of this hateful group – it is time they be held accountable for their blatant disregard of our laws, our courts, and our bodily autonomy.”

Red Rose Rescue undertakes peaceful volunteer missions to abortion clinics to converse with women scheduled for abortions and encourage them to choose life. Despite the preliminary injunction in December 2023 that prohibited the group from being within 15 feet of abortion clinics within specified districts, the AG’s office alleges that certain members, specifically focusing on one, Brianna Mangat alias Bernadette Patel, have continued their protests.

AG James is urging the court for sanctions of at least $500 per violation, potentially amassing to roughly $2,000, to try and deter Red Rose Rescue from fufilling their mission of saving babies from abortion and aiding mothers considering ending their child’s life.
