New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy sparked fury among pro-life advocates by dropping a bombshell $22 million taxpayer-funded boost to abortion providers on Christmas Eve 2025, channeling the cash into the Reproductive Health Access Fund to “protect and expand” access to terminations amid a staggering 59,000 abortions reported in the state just last year.

This latest handout piles onto the $268 million his administration has funneled to Planned Parenthood over eight years, all while masquerading as compassionate policy. Critics slam the Democrat as tone-deaf for timing the announcement on a sacred night celebrating the miracle of life and the impending birth of Christ, turning a season of hope into a grim endorsement of death.

Marie Tasy, executive director of New Jersey Right to Life, ripped into Murphy’s move as “offensive and disrespectful,” arguing it spits in the face of the holiday’s core values of reverence for life, family, and divine grace—values that should unite all citizens, regardless of faith.

Instead of uplifting the vulnerable, the governor’s priorities prop up a “culture of death,” prioritizing the destruction of unborn children over genuine support for women and families in crisis. As backlash mounts, the incident highlights Murphy’s radical pro-abortion agenda, which has turned New Jersey into a haven for out-of-state seekers since Roe’s overturn, drawing sharp contrasts to states protecting the unborn.
