Macron exposes himself as pro-censorship: calls free speech “pure bullshit”

Emmanuel Macron, working to enact greater restrictions on social media, dismissed concerns about censorship during a speech in India. In respose to free speech concerns over restrictions, he quipped that such concerns are “pure bullshit.”

The French president said “having no clue about how their algorithm is made, how it’s tested, trained and where it will guide you—the democratic consequences of this bias could be huge,” adding: Some of them claim to be in favor of free speech—OK, we are in favor of free algorithms—totally transparent. Free speech is pure bulls**t if nobody knows how you are guided to this so-called free speech, especially when it is guided from one hate speech to another.”

These comments were met with strong backlash from free speech advocates. Comedian Rob Schneider said, “If the Government, and tyrants like French moron Macron, get to decide what ‘speech’ is allowed and not allowed, they will ALWAYS choose the ‘speech’ that supports government and silence the speech that questions government.”

These comments expose the censorship regime of the European left, which JD Vance warned of last year in his speech at Brussels, warning Europe of “the enemy within.”
